Dom Marshall
Specialist in Clinical Massage, Lomi Lomi (Temple Style) and Chavutti Thirumal
When in the UK, I offer treatments in my therapy room near Milborne Port, Sherborne, and in rooms in Glastonbury. I also make home visits in the North Dorset and South Somerset area. A portion of the year I spend at my home in a small mountain village in the Serrania de Ronda in Andalusia.
Treatments
clinical massage / Deep tissue
A blend of the best eastern and western advanced massage techniques can move you out of chronic pain or discomfort caused by a large range of conditions. Never a replacement for seeking medical advice, clincial massage can nevertheless complement standard medical treatment and the work of physios, chiropractors and osteopaths. Treatment focuses on the soft tissue around problematic joints and includes fascial and trigger point work, hot stones, acupressure, stretching and self-help techniques. Additionally, clinical massage is a highly effective treatment for those seeking a deep tissue or sports massage experience. Other Treatments
For those seeking a deeper, more energetic massage experience, I offer the following treatments. Lomi Lomi tends to be a lighter pressure massage and Chavutti Thirumal a more intense, deep tissue one.
authentic lomi lomi
massage
Shamanic in origin, this massage experience from Hawaii uses a range of techniques, including flowing strokes along the length of the body, to bring about deep relaxation and a profound sense of physical and mental wellbeing. This treatment can be enjoyed as a purely relaxing massage experience, but many people choose Lomi for the emotional and spiritual healing it brings. It is a massage discipline not as widespread as it perhaps ought to be, although elements of it are increasingly being incorporated into massage treatments in spas. If you research the subject, make sure you search for ‘Temple Style’ Lomi Lomi. Watch a video and read more about this powerful experience of ‘aloha’ here.
Chavutti
Thirumal
A deep-tissue massage performed with the feet, Chavutti Thirumal is a massage modality from southern India originally used for warriors and dancers to give them strength and suppleness and heal them from injuries. It is the supreme experience for anyone seeking an intense sports massage. Chavutti promotes general health and is used to treat a whole range of systemic conditions. It helps tone the body and aids in the removal of excess fat. Working the energy meridians of the body, this massage can be used in conjunction with ayurvedic oils to strengthen, loosen, enliven and heal your body and mind, no matter what its condition. A ‘total massage’ Chavutti is utterly transformational of body, mind and spirit. Read more here.

weekly sessions for CHronic pain
Issues of chronic pain are rarely resolved in one session. For lasting results it is advised to have a set of weekly treatments.
The clinical massage method I use advocates a ‘fix in six’ approach (for most issues) with a discernible improvement experienced after 3 or 4 sessions.
In order to make this treatment programme more viable, I offer the following package from my therapy room in Milborne Port:
Weekly sessions (Milborne Port only)
Session 1 – price as advertised
Sessions 2-6 – £40/hr
ABOUT
After a 20-year teaching career, in 2019 I embarked upon the standard qualification in Swedish Massage and upon qualifying undertook a host of post-graduate diploma courses in a range of massage disciplines before specialising in Clinical Massage, Lomi Lomi and more recently, Chavutti Thirumal.
In 2021, I graduated in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy with Jing Advanced Massage Training, Brighton. In 2022, I completed training courses in authentic Lomi Lomi Temple Style and Advanced Lomi Lomi, with Ricardo Balkhoven. I was part of the Healing Fields team in Glastonbury Festival in 2024. Also in 2024, I undertook training in Chavutti Thirumal, with Candida Valentino, which I have begun to integrate into my practice. A member of ABT, I am fully insured for the treatments I offer.
In April 2022, I bought a house in small mountain village in Andalusia, Spain. I spend a portion of the year there offering massage and helping run wellbeing retreats in a rustic hotel and retreat centre (almeji.com). When in the UK, I offer massage in Milborne Port and Glastonbury, and make home visits in the North Dorset and South Somerset area.
Testimonials
Huge thanks to my clients who have allowed me to share their thoughts on my massage with you here.
“Dom was recommended to me as someone who could help with some long-term back and neck pains. I have tried acupuncture and osteopathy in the past and was struggling to find the help I needed and so wanted to try massage. Dom came to my house and gave me a few weeks of treatment. He has helped me enormously and whenever I feel some of the old pains coming back I just call Dom for a couple of extra sessions. I can’t recommend Dom enough. Incredibly professional and knowledgeable, caring and attentive, and above all he has really helped me when others couldn’t.”
George, Bruton.
“What can I say?! An amazing treatment by Dom… I went for a deep tissue massage but got so much more than that. With Dom’s intuition and professionalism, he found areas of the body most in need of work and used deep tissue techniques and hot stones. I felt so relaxed and grounded at the end of the session. It’s been a few days since my treatment and my body feels so much more comfortable than before, I feel so much more ‘moveable’! 10/10!”
Rebekah, Berkshire (visitor to Glastonbury)
“Now in my late 80s, I work hard at keeping fit, and regular massages from Dom are an important part of my regime. I like the way he tries different massage techniques and is not afraid to change his approach to fit my particular needs. At the moment he does a lot of deep-tissue work to get rid of muscular knots and fend off the aches and pains of old age, but he combines this with his skills at Lomi Lomi to give an interesting hybrid treatment. I can tell that he’s viewing my body as a whole entity, not as separate parts. I feel 20 years younger after our sessions!”
Steve, Mere.
“Just a short note that I have been meaning to write for many months… Thank you sincerely for your wonderful massages throughout the year. I’ve come to look forward to our weekly appointment enormously, knowing that I will feel so much more relaxed and flexible through the following days, and sleep well through the following nights. Somehow you seem to achieve more and more with each passing session. I can’t thank you enough. Looking forward to the year ahead.”
Phil, Sherborne.
“Dom is everything you would expect from a practitioner; kind and caring with intuitive skills in massage. His therapeutic techniques are varied and he can certainly hone in to troublesome areas. I felt very relaxed after the massage as he also used some lovely essential oils.”
Babs, Warminster
“Feeling great after Dom’s massage. He is a professional and I received exactly what I needed. I appreciated his availability and flexibility when arranging the massage on my visit to Glastonbury, and the personal care and attention he showed me before, during and after the massage. I highly recommend Dom.”
Cariño, Guatemala (visitor to Glastonbury)
