the trefoil
The well-known and ancient ‘three-in-one’ symbol of the trefoil can remind us of the importance of bringing the mind, body and spirit into harmony to find personal flourishing, wellbeing and wholeness.
In a world where there is so much separation and alienation, massage can play an important part in helping us value and nurture our bodies and minds. It can bring us back in touch with ourselves and ripple out into our life, work and relationships.
My Journey
After a 20-year teaching career, in 2019 I set about looking for a new challenge and direction. I discovered massage and its accompanying power to revitalise and heal. Working in massage therapy felt a natural move.
I completed the standard qualification in Swedish Massage and a host of post-graduate diploma courses in a range of disciplines. After a period of spa-work gaining experience of massage and spa treatments, I focused subsequent training on massage for chronic pain and have a special interest in the connection between physical and emotional health.
In 2021 I graduated in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy with Jing Advanced Massage Training. In 2022 I completed courses in authentic Lomi Lomi Temple Style, a massage discipline from Hawaii which promotes deep relaxation
and emotional and spiritual healing.
offers
From December 2021, I concentrated on building my private practice from a therapy room in Sherborne, treating clients from 19 to 90 with a range of needs and familiarity with massage.
Some come with specific aches and pains they’d like treating – back, neck, shoulder and hip pain are ‘the usual suspects’ – for which I create treatment plans for their specific issues using the protocols of clinical massage for chronic pain.
Others are just looking for general relaxation and de-stressing, and benefit from a Swedish or Lomi Lomi treatment or a combination of the two, depending on preference.
In July 2022 I gave up my therapy room in Sherborne and divide my time between the UK and my home in a small mountain village in Andalusia, Spain. I maintain a client base in South Somerset however, and mostly visit clients in their homes.
